In Gimont, a small village in the Gers area where Comtesse du Barry was created more than a century ago, the company's head office is located.

Foie gras, its original speciality, has become one of the most prestigious jewels in the company's crown over time, notably thanks to the delicious recipes in its Secrets range and its seasonal productions. Foie gras has also enabled Comtesse du Barry to become the ambassador of contemporary French gastronomy in gourmet food shops and on the internet, while continuing to distribute its products via mail order, which was its original business activity.

Comtesse du Barry is widely recognised for the quality of its foie gras recipes, which use the livers of farm geese and ducks raised in the countryside of South-western France and fattened by hand with whole grain maize following the traditional regional method. The company is also a specialist in other emblematic products of French cuisine.

Smoked Salmon, prepared in the Brioude workshops, is also on offer across all points of sale. Slowly smoked over oak and left to mature to extract the woody flavours, Comtesse du Barry's Scottish and Norwegian salmon are a rare delicacy. It features alongside another pearl of French gastronomy, Aquitaine caviar. Expertly chosen according to the size, colour and texture of the grains, our caviar is available in three subtle flavours (as part of a range organised according to the consumer's expertise) and comes in various formats, including the 12 g pot to introduce new consumers to caviar. Lastly in our array of noble and emblematic products of the South-West of France is our wide range of truffles.

All these treasures of regional culinary art are perfect for personal consumption or to give as a gift. They are the pillars of what Comtesse du Barry has to offer.

But our activity doesn't stop there. As an expert in 'terroir' cuisine, Comtesse du Barry wants to introduce lovers of fine food to the richness of our region.  Other regional specialities are presented, such as delicious terrines to spread or share, confits and cassoulets, but also chocolates, jams, biscuits, wines, champagne and spirits, allowing you to enjoy a ‘Comtesse du Barry’ moment among friends or offer a ‘Comtesse du Barry’ gift.
